Man Floating In Silverwood Lake Dies

Silverwood Lake, CA – A 35-year-old man found floating in Silverwood Lake has died, according to the San Bernardino County Coroner.

The man — identified as Resendo Garcia from Bell — was found floating about 15 feet from shore in the swimming area about 3 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, by on-lookers. One of the reporting parties, assisted by a passing jet skier, managed to get Garcia to the shore where CPR was administered.

Crest Forest Fire personnel arrived on scene and took over CPR until a helicopter arrived to transport the man to Loma Linda University Medical Center.

The Coroner reports Garcia succumbed to his injuries at 12:52 a.m. on Monday, May 21.
