UPDATE -Thursday, November 29 – 12:07 p.m.

Highland, CA – The partially decomposed body of a Rialto man located in Plunge Creek has been identified.

The body — identified as Dante Duvall Ratliff, 27 — was discovered by a hiker in a remote area between Highland and Running Springs on Sunday, November 25. Ratliff had been reported missing in July 2012 from Rialto.

Authorities are continuing to investigate the incident.

Running Springs, CA – A partially decomposed body has been recovered by authorities after it was found by a hiker.

The body of an unidentified male was found in a remote location on the San Bernardino National Forest between Running Springs and Highland in Plunge Creek. The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department told ROTWNEWS the body was located about 9:30 a.m. on Sunday, November 25.

Spokesperson Jodi Miller told ROTWNEWS deputies were taken to the remote area by helicopter about 2 1/2 miles north of Highland but within the area served by the Twin Peaks Sheriff’s Station.

Homicide investigators responded and are conducting the death investigation,” Miller stated. “No signs of foul play were observed and the investigation is ongoing.”
