Obernolte is president of FarSight Studios, a developer of family video games for the PlayStation3, Nintendo Wii, Xbox 36o, Nintendo DS, and the PC, which is based in Big Bear Lake. Obernolte started the firm in 1990 and his biography indicates the FarSight Studios’ games have sold millions of copies around the world.
Obernolte, and his wife, Heather, have been full-time residents of Big Bear Lake for 15 years. They have two sons, Hale and Troy.
“We love Big Bear,” Obernolte’s biography states, “and there’s nowhere else in the world we’d rather call home.”
Outgoing Councilmember Liz Harris was saluted during the meeting for her dozen years of service to the City of Big Bear Lake including three terms as Mayor — 2003, 2004 and 2010.
Attendees at the meeting watched a video tribute to Harris and then several stepped up to the microphone to offer their thanks for her service to the community. She was first elected to the City Council in 2000 and a resident of Big Bear Lake since 1996.
