Lake Arrowhead Man Graduates From Fire Academy

Lake Arrowhead, CA -Congratulations are in order for Lake Arrowhead’s Derek Alford.

Alford, a graduate of Rim High School in 2010, recently participated in Crafton Hills College’s 77th Basic Firefighters Academy graduation ceremony at the Finkelstein Performing Arts Center in Yucaipa. He was one of 20 new cadets who received their certificates from Dean June Yamamoto, President Cheryl Marshall, Trustee Donna Ferracone and Interim Executive Vice President Rebeccah Warren-Marlatt.

San Bernardino Country Fire Chief Mark Hartwig and Chief Dan Sullivan spoke to those in attendance, congratulating the graduates and providing words of wisdom.

There was a moment of silence in honor of alumnus Fire Captain Douglas D. Heller-Taylor.
