Fire Chief Named To State Commission

Sacramento, CA – San Bernardino County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig named to a state commission by Governor Jerry Brown.

The 39-year-old Hartwig will become a member of the California Commission On Emergency Medical Services. The commission consists of 12 individuals appointed by the governor and three each appointed by the Senate Rules Committee and the Assembly Speaker.

Hartwig, who has been San Bernardino County Fire Chief since 2011, will attend his first commission meeting in Los Angles on March 20, 2013, at the Westin Los Angeles Hotel. The position does not require Senate confirmation and there is no compensation.

Hartwig is a member of the California Fire Chiefs Association and serves as president of the Emergency medical Services Section.

The governor’s press release indicates Hartwig is a Republican. (309)
