Mountain Communities – “I need a Tipsy Tow.”

Those five words, after partying to bring in the New Year, can save mountain residents from receiving a costly DUI citation and possibly save lives. For the 16th year, the Automobile Club of Southern Calif9ornia and local AAA-affiliated towing companies are offering free rides and tows to anyone who is too inebriated to get behind the wheel of their automobile.

We would much rather give our neighbors a safe ride home than clean up an accident scene,” Arrowhead Towing President Raymond Ray told ROTWNEWS. “Together, we can reduce the number of intoxicated motorists on our mountain roads.”

The Arrowhead Towing spokesperson indicated the program launches at 6 p.m. on Monday, December 31, and extends until 6 a.m. on Tuesday, January 1, 2013.

Any bartender or party host may also call on behalf of another person,” Ray explained.

For Tipsy Tow service call (800) AAA-HELP.

Local residents may also call our office at (909) 338-7400,” Ray noted.

A free tow to the person’s home will be provided, within seven (7) miles. And if the person is headed over seven miles, they must pay for the balance of the trip to their residence.

And the best part,” Ray concluded, “is the service is available without charge for AAA Members and non-AAA members to help ensure those who drink don’t get behind the wheel.”
