Mountain Communities – The celebration of New Year’s will mean closures of many offices and curtailment of certain services.
The ROTWNEWS.com, RIMOFTHEWORLD.net and ROTW ALERTS teams extend best wishes for a HAPPY NEW YEAR. When the clock strikes midnight on December 31, residents and visitors in the mountain communities will wish each other a very Happy New Year. For some, midnight signifies a simple change of a calendar and others the New Year symbolizes new beginnings and a look forward to an outstanding 2013.
Our wish for each of you is for a prosperous and Happy New Year.
NEW YEAR’S CLOSINGS
Here are some of the scheduled closings in observance of New Year’s:
BANKS – Financial institutions will be closed (January 1).
CALTRANS -There are no planned lane closures during the holiday period.
CITY OF BIG BEAR LAKE – City offices will be closed December 31 and January 1.
COURTS – All San Bernardino County Courthouses will close on December 31 at 2 p.m. and be closed January 1.
MAIL DELIVERY – There will be no mail delivery on New Year’s Day.
STATE/COUNTY OFFICES - State and county offices will be closed in observance of the holiday.
TRANSPORTATION – MARTA offices will be closed and buses will not run on New Year’s Day.
TRASH PICK-UP – Trash pick-up may be delayed one day. Check with your provider.
SCHOOLS – Rim of the World Unified School District (December 21-January 4) and Bear Valley Unified School District (December 24-January 11) campuses will be closed. California State University San Bernardino (December 25-January 1) will also be closed. (582)
