UPDATE: Disabled Loader On Highway 18 Cleared

UPDATE – Wednesday, January 2 – 5:45 a.m.
Big Bear Lake, CA – The disabled loader on Highway 18 has been removed and the roadway reopened.
The incident near the Big Bear Dam began just before midnight and the CHP reported its units were cleared from the scene at 5:33 a.m. At 5:45 the CHP reported its unit was still at the location.
ORIGINAL STORY
Big Bear Lake, CA – A disabled loader is blocking Highway 18 near the Big Bear Dam.
At 5 a.m., CalTrans reported the roadway would be closed for about another hour.
The incident that closed the roadway1.2 miles north of the junction of Highway 38 began about 11:51 p.m. (December 1). The California Highway Patrol responded for traffic control and at 1:39 a.m. (December 2) the roadway was closed until the loader can be removed this morning.
Traffic is being diverted to Highway 18 through Lucerne Valley and to Highway 38 to Redlands. (571)
