San Bernardino, CA – Applications are being solicited for a seat on the County Planning Commission.
Supervisor James Ramos is seeking applicants from the third district to fill the appointment on the five-member Commission.
Ramos’ office issued a press release indicating that the Planning Commissioner is appointed to serve a key role in the development and management of the County’s General Plan. The Planning Commission members assess and recommend amendments to the General Plan as well as the Development Code for future development of the County. The Commission is responsible for the review and consideration of issues concerning countywide planning and improvement programs.
Supervisor Ramos will begin conducting interviews to fill the Commission seat in late January. Interested candidates should submit a cover letter and resume to: SupervisorRamos@sbcounty.gov.
The deadline for submission of these materials is Monday, January 14.
The current Third District Planning Commissioner is Redlands citrus rancher and retired educator Theresa Kwappenberg.
Kwappenberg replaced Commissioner Bill Collago in February 2012 when she was appointed to fill Collago’s vacancy by then-supervisor Neil Derry.
