Big Bear Lake, CA – Noted Italian coach Renato Canova is now coaching Ryan Hall.
Hall, 30, posted on his blog, “I feel God bringing me under a new coach to learn from and work with. In my study of training I have been drawn to the training methodology of Renato Canova.
“His system,” Hall’s blog continued, “is different than anything I’ve been exposed to in the past and his athletes are flourishing under it. So I’m very excited to begin this new season of my professional career working with Coach Canova.”
The announcement of the new coach — made in several track and field publications — means Hall is abandoning what he had dubbed “faith-based coaching.” But he points out Canova’s training is also faith-based.
Hall had been basically self-trained since leaving Mammoth Track Club in 2010 and launched the new training program that included daily prayers and no training on the 7th day of each week.
