Crestline, CA – The food voucher program at Hearts & Lives just received a big boost.

Hearts & Lives Executive Director David Stuart told ROTWNEWS his organization’s request for funding to purchase food vouchers has been granted to the tune of $10,000 by the S.L. Gimbel Foundation. The grant award was announced by Executive Vice President Celia Cudiamat from The Community Foundation.

This grant,” Stuart noted, “will help Hearts & Lives — First 5 Resource Center — provide setrvices to economically disadvantaged and underserved families here in the Rim mountain communities.”

The grant was made possible through the S.L. Gimbel Foundation Fund, a component fund of The Community Foundation serving Riverside and San Bernardino Counties.

The Community Foundation was established to meet the needs of each community served by the Foundation, as determined by its grants committee and with final approval by the Board of Directors. The grants are awarded through a competitive grant process each year.
