Valley of Enchantment, CA – The VOE Nature Walk will be restored thanks to Rotary EARLYACT members.
On Saturday, January 19, about two dozen fifth grade members of the Valley of Enchantment Elementary School’s EARLYACT club will join members of the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club working on projects at the school campus. Among the projects scheduled for EARLYACT volunteer work is the VOE Nature Walk where flowers will be planted and planters boxes built for each grade level at VOE.
The students, parents, friends and Rotary members will gather at VOE at 10 a.m. and expect to complete the projects by 2 p.m.
“This is the first service project selected by the EARLYACT club to tackle,” according to Rotarian Jim De Lapp. “The club is sponsored by the Crestline-Lake Gregory Rotary Club and is mentored by teacher Mark Warhol.”
Meetings, conducted by the students — attended by Rotary members — are held bi-weekly.
“The students select and run their own projects,” De Lapp noted. De Lapp also indicated the students receive assistance from Warhol and Rotarians.
