Donating Blood Takes About An Hour

Big Bear Lake, CA – It will take about an hour to donate blood in Big Bear Lake on February 11.

The LifeStream Bloodmobile will be at Bear Valley Electric from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 42020 Garstin Road in Big Bear Lake.

Gift of Life Donor Loyalty points are also awarded and may be redeemed in the online donor store at LIFESTREAM STORE.

Healthy individuals, at least 15 years of age, may donate blood. Prospective donors should be free of infections or illness, weigh at least 110 pounds, and not be at risk for AIDS or hepatitis.

GIFT OF LIFE HEROES

There are four easy steps to becoming a red-blooded hero and give the gift of life:

  1. REGISTRATION
    Sign in with the LifeStream receptionist and complete a brief health history questionnaire (approx. 15 minutes).
  2. MINI-PHYSICAL
    LifeStream will give you a “mini-physical” to review your medical history, check your blood pressure, pulse rate, body temperature and iron levels (approx. 15 minutes).
  3. BLOOD DONATION
    Your life-giving blood is drawn by a skilled medical professional using new, sterile and disposable materials (approx. 15 minutes).
  4. HEALTHY SNACKS AND JUICE FOR ALL!
    You’re already done! And, in addition to the wonderful feeling of satisfaction you have from knowing that your blood will help save someone’s life, you’ll enjoy cookies, drinks and healthy snacks while relaxing in our canteen area.
