BEAR BEAR AAUW
In 1983, the Big Bear Valley branch of AAUW was formed. The organization’s purpose is to enhance the professional and personal growth of members, young women and girls in the community through the endorsement and implementation of national programs at the local level.
In addition, the AAUW branch provides intellectual stimulation through monthly programs, socialization through a number of interest groups and community service through involvement in local issues.
Statewide Speech Trek, in its eighth year, it begins on the branch level with the speech tournament for local students and culminates with three top statewide finalists performing their five-minute speeches at the AAUW California convention in April.
The convention will be held April 11-13 at the Los Angeles Airport Marriott Hotel.
