PATRIOTS OF THE PAST, PRESENT & FUTURE: Nomination Deadline Extended (UPDATE)

Riverside, CA – State Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga/23) — who represents the mountain communities — has announced the deadline for nominations for the 4th Annual Patriots of the Past, Present, and Future ceremony and policy forum has been extended to Wednesday, February 1.

Morrell will host the event on Friday, March 10, at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside

Riverside, CA – State Senator Mike Morrell (R-Rancho Cucamonga/23) — who represents the mountain communities — will host the 4th Annual Patriots of the Past, Present, and Future ceremony and policy forum on March 10 at March Field Air Museum in Riverside.

Senator Morrell is now accepting nominations. All entries must be received by Monday,  January 16.

HONORING THOSE WHO SERVE

morrell-patriots-ppfThe annual event pays tribute to veterans, reservists, and enlisted service members, as well as highlighting legislative issues impacting servicemen and women.

CATEGORIES RECOGNIZED

Nominations are sought for “Patriots of the Past” and “Patriots of the Present.” Patriots of the Past are those individuals who served in the Armed Forces during World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War.

Patriots of the Present are those currently enlisted service members, reservists, or veterans of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. A Patriot of the Present can also be a person, business or organization serving veterans in some capacity.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

To qualify, nominees must be based in the 23rd Senate District. Three finalists for each category will be selected, with one finalist being chosen for special recognition based on the following categories: Business, Education, Public Safety, Community Service and Civic Engagement.

HOW TO APPLY

Nominees under the age of 21 are also being sought to share what patriotism means to them in the category “Patriots of the Future.” Nominees must submit an online questionnaire and a photo taken with a veteran as part of the submission process. A caption must accompany the photo explaining why the veteran qualifies as a patriot.

state-senate-logoAll entries must be submitted via direct message to Senator Morrell’s Instagram account at “mikemorrellgop.” A parental consent for participants under the age of 18 is available at MORRELL PATRIOTS.

First, second, and third place winners of the “Patriots of the Future” category will receive a $100 Amazon gift card, an Amazon Echo Dot-2nd Generation, and an Amazon Fire Tablet, respectively.
