Update: SEARCH ON FOR MISSING MAN IN LAKE ARROWHEAD

Sunday – January 29, 2017

At approximately 1:10 a.m., Sheriff’s Dive Team members continued their search of Lake Arrowhead and located a deceased male in about 30 feet of water near the Yacht Club. The Coroner responded and confirmed the victim was Dawson Hartwig.

Lake Arrowhead CA. – Jan 28 2017.

Dawson Hartwig, son of San Bernardino County Fire Chief Mark Hartwig, was reported missing in the Lake Arrowhead Village Area of the San Bernardino Mountains.  Hartwig is 20 years old, 6′ 5″ 160 lbs., Blonde hair, Brown eyes
Last seen wearing: White shirt, Khaki pants, Snow boots, Beanie hat and is believed to have gone for a walk by himself on Burnt Mill Road.

user30969-1485652112-media1Hartwig left without a cell phone  and was improperly dressed for winter in the mountains, said San Bernardino County Assistant Fire Chief Kathleen Opliger.

A San Bernardino County sheriff’s helicopter is assisting in the search with more than 100 fire and law enforcement personnel – including sheriff’s canine Ellie, a blue tick/bloodhound mix — are involved in the search.
