MARTA Extending Trolley Service Through October 29

By Susan A. Neufeld

Mountain Communities – MARTA (Mountain Transit) is extending their trolley service through October 29, in order to accommodate Lake Arrowhead Oktoberfest events.

The trolley began in May as a Demonstration Service, and has become a huge success in the mountain communities. The original plan was for the trolley to operate from May through Labor Day, but  Mountain Transit has received numerous requests to extend the Rim Week-End Trolley.

With the issues involved with the parking garage at Lake Arrowhead Villagem the trolley has helped alleviate some of the parking challenges being experienced there.

The trolley runs from Crestline to SkyPark at Santa’s Village, and it’s a great way to go to the concerts at the Lake Arrowhead Village on the weekends. You can enjoy the beauty of the mountains and not have to worry about the traffic.

The Trolley makes stops at SkyPark Santa’s Village, Skyforest, Lake Arrowhead Village, Cedar Glen, Tudor House, Twin Peaks, Blue Jay, Lake Gregory, Crestline and Toptown.

The fare for the trolley is $5, ($2.50 for seniors), for unlimited re-boarding all weekend long. Tickets may be purchased from the conductor, Crestline Chamber of Commerce, Lake Arrowhead Chamber of Commerce, Pine Rose Cabins in Twin Peaks or the Lake Arrowhead Village executive offices.
