Rim Mountain Communities Special Olympics Meeting Thursday, January 11, 2018

Mountain Communities – Rim Communities Special Olympics Local Program is hosting a meeting Thursday, January 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the Lake Gregory Community Center (formerly  Lake Gregory Education Center) located at 24740 San Moritz Way, Crestline, CA.

Everyone is invited,  athletes, volunteers, their families interested in learning more about the program, and anyone interested in applying to join our Special Olympics Local Program Orientation.

WHAT IS THE PROGRAM?

Special Olympics Southern California-Inland Empire’s mission to provide year-round sports training and competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics gives individuals continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy, and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills, and friendship with their Community.

All programs are offered at no cost to athletes and their families. Athletes must be at least 8 years of age to participate in the traditional sports program. All Athletes and Volunteers must have current Special Olympics clearance to participate.

The Rim Mountain Communities local program will start training in the Spring Season of 2018, with a track and field program.

SPECIAL GUEST

The meeting is to help community members learn more about what this program is about. Stacy Fish, Program Specialist, Special Olympics Southern California, will be the guest speaker. She will discuss what the program offers and answer questions anyone may have.
