Mountain Communities – The Pilot Fire that charred 8,110 acres near Silverwood Lake, Hesperia, Deer Lodge Park and Lake Arrowhead was selected by 119,884 ROTWNEWS.com readers as the Top Story of 2016.
The Pilot Fire — August 7-16 — forced the evacuation of 5,300 individuals. Some areas were under mandatory evacuations and others voluntary.
