Mountain Communities – Monday, January 21, is a “fee-free” day in the San Bernardino National Forest. National Forest Adventure Passes are not required, as the U.S. Forest Service joins other federal agencies in offering fee-free days on public lands in conjunction with Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
This the first of five fee free days taking place in 2017.
Recreation fees will be waived at most day-use sites on land managed by the U.S. Forest Service.
Visitors who inadvertently commit to a Daily Adventure Pass on that day can have it replaced free-of-charge.
The four remaining fee free days in 2017 will be:
February 20 – President’s Day
June 11 – National Get Outdoors Day
September 30 – National Public Lands Day
November 11 – 12 – Veterans Day
