OPEN HOUSE: Mitsubishi Cement Offers Insight Into South Quarry Project

Lucerne Valley, CA – Individuals interested in Mitsubishi Cement’s South Quarry Project are invited to attend an Open House on Thursday, January 19, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Lucerne Valley complex.


MITSUBISHI CementIn addition to light refreshments, Mitsubishi personnel will share the progress on the South Quarry Project to date and answer questions from those in attendance.

Mitsubishi is seeking to develop a new limestone quarry south of its existing operation in Lucerne Valley. The new quarry would total 153 acres and would consist of a 128-acre quarry, a 2.7 acre landscape berm, and a temporary construction road of 0.7 acres.

The “draft” of the project can be viewed at online at SOUTH QUARRY PROJECT. The document was prepared for the U.S. Department of Agriculture (U. S. Forest Service) and the County of San Bernardino by Mitsubishi Cement.

The public comment period for the draft ends on Wednesday, February 1. Written comments submitted electronically are strongly encouraged.


Individuals attending the open house are encouraged to wear casual clothing and closed toe shoes.
