The Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club has announced that their 27th Annual Pines to Palms Golf Tournament will be held on Saturday, March 25. This year’s tournament, which benefits the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club, will include the 1st Annual Parker Golf Ball Drop, named in honor of Dennis Parker who recently retired from the board of directors after 17 years, leaving some pretty big shoes to fill. The tournament will be hosted by Bermuda Dunes and Sponsored by Serenity Lodge. Not only is Serenity sponsoring the event, with a donation of $5000 (to help defray costs), but they’re also participating with a foursome, as well as donating auction items.
The day begins at 10:30 am for check-in & practice, with a putting contest at 11:00 am. Lunch will be served at 11:30 am, before a 12:30 pm shotgun start. As the golfers finish up, around 5:00 pm, their guest can join them for cocktails and the opening of the silent auction. During this time, the 1st Annual Parker Ball Drop will occur. A hot air balloon will ascend with all of the balls for the Ball Drop, at 5:30 pm. All balls will be numbered and the first ball in the hole, or closest to it, will win $3000. The second closest will win $1500 and the third will win $1000. Anyone can participate in the ball drop, whether you’re a golfer or not, so everyone can join in and you need not be present to win!
At 6:00 pm everyone comes back inside for dinner, the end of the silent auction and the live auction. Auction items this year include, but are not limited to; a membership to Lake Arrowhead Country Club, Swisstrax garage flooring, numerous foursomes at country clubs around the southland, gift certificates for fantastic restaurants, and there are many items in the silent auction, from sunglasses to hand tools.
