Win $1,000 During 9th Annual Lake Gregory Rubber Duck Derby

By  Susan A. Neufeld

Crestline, CA – One adopted rubber duck will win $1,000 at the 9th Annual Lake Gregory Rubber Duck Derby on Saturday, April 15. Plus there will be a free Egg Hunt hosted by the Mountain Communities Boys & Girls Club.  The fun starts with the egg hunt at 11:30 a.m.

The first three (3) ducks to cross the finish line will each earn cash prizes.  There will also be a $100 cash prize for the “lame duck” that obviously didn’t pay attention during training and will be the last duck to finish.

All proceeds go toward the July 1 fireworks show over Lake Gregory.

Duck adoptions are $5 each or $20 per family of five (5).

The adoption paperwork (ticket) can be found at many Crestline businesses, including the Chamber of Commerce office at 24385 Lake Drive in Crestline.  Locations selling the “adoption paperwork” are displaying “sold here” signs.

“Adoptions” will also be accepted at the gate.

Ducks can also be adopted on line with PayPal at CRESTLINE-LAKE GREGORY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE.

And don’t fret if you can’t make it to the derby. Winners will be notified once the results are posted.

The Duck Derby is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. and the Egg Hunt – for various age groups of children 12 and under – starts at 11:30 a m.

Free admission and parking is made possible by the Duck Derby TOP DUCK sponsors: Goodwin’s Market, the Lake Gregory Recreation Company, Cookie Cook, Rim Bowling and Entertainment, Mick Hill Enterprises, Alpenhorn News, Victorville Motors and Crestline-Lake Gregory Chamber of Commerce.
