Silverwood Lake – Caltrans has re-opened SR-138, where the realignment project is underway.
SR-138, east of Interstate 15, is open to traffic, after being closed for ten days. The existing road opened to traffic on Friday, March 31, 2017. The full closure was necessary to complete earthwork in preparation for the new realignment of SR-138. The majority of construction activities will continue away from the existing roadway.
The project is located on SR-138, just east of Interstate 15 to Summit Post Office Road. The realignment will remove several curves and steep grades, reducing the three-mile stretch by one mile. The project also includes constructing outside shoulders, three bridges, and three wildlife crossings. SR-138 will remain a two-land road, with one lane in each direction.
