Lake Arrowhead, CA – A special election is being held on May 2, in the San Bernardino Mountains Community Hospital District (MCH), to extend the current tax for another four years.
The tax which has been around since 1989 and has never been raised – must be renewed every four years. It allows the district to collect $80 a year from homeowners, $40 on unimproved lots and $200 from business owners on their property taxes. Voting to continue the tax requires a simple majority.
In the last four years, the hospital has seen a 50% increase in the number of ER visits, lab tests and radiology exams. With patient volume and acuity levels on the rise the Hospital tax is more critical than ever to help MCH advance its technology, expand its facilities, and grow its service.
