Mountain History Museum Opens May 27 For the 2017 Season

Lake Arrowhead, CA – The Mountain History Museum, in Lake Arrowhead, will open for the 2017 season on Memorial Day weekend, Saturday, May 27, through Monday, May 29.

RIM HIST LogoFamilies are welcome. The museum is free (donations accepted) and will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, continuing on Saturdays and Sundays through October.

Since 1986 the museum has been run by The Rim of the World Historical Society.


The museum as been renovated over the winter months. There are several new exhibits, new display cases and many changes, as the museum celebrates the 2017 season.


Exhibits include an attractive combination of mural photographs and objects, interpreted by descriptive text. Themes include mountain communities, American Indian seasonal living, early settlement years, lumbering, lodges and camps, mountain sports, Santa’s Village and movies filmed in the San Bernardino mountains.

Don’t miss the opening day of the  “NEW” museum. It will be a new showcase for the mountain history.
