The Silver fire near Silverwood Lake is at 13 acres and is 60% contained.

Brush Engine 32 has been released from this incident and is returning to quarters. The 138 is now open.

UPDATE 10- Tuesday July 4, 6:40 p.m.  

The Silver fire at Silverwood  Lake is holding at 20 acres and is 25% contained.

The fire is holding at 20 acres inside the retardant lines.

Air tankers are being released. Helicopters are staying.

Hwy 138 is closed between Hwy 173 and Cedar Pines Park.

Per Air Attack – Silver fire is holding at 20 acres. Some tankers reloading and returning – some could be released soon

UPDATE 3 – Tuesday July 4, 2:45 p.m.

Air Attack is doubling up on the retardant line along the south side of this fire.

Incident command is at 138 and Burnt Mill, there is a unified command between BDF and Calfire.

UPDATE 2 – Tuesday July 4, 2:20 p.m.  

The Silver fire is 15 – 20 acres, multiple spot fires, evacuations in progress for the Lake Silverwood area.

UPDATE 1 – Tuesday July 4, 2:10 p.m.  

The Silver Fire was reported as a car fire into vegetation. Highway 138 is closed from Old Mill Rd. to Cleghorn Rd. The fire is approximately 10 acres. The fire is burning in medium to heavy brush at a rapid rate of spread with spotting.  Full aircraft response, strike teams and hand crews enroute

Silverwood Lake, CA – A vegetation fire has broken off  Hwy 138 at Silverwood Lake.  US Forest Service and CALFIRE are responding.
