“Mountain Homeless Summit” Thursday July 27 Lake Arrowhead

Lake Arrowhead, CA – The Mountain Homeless Coalition (MHC) is hosting the “Mountain Homeless Summit”, on July 27th. MHC is a coalition that endeavors to reach, inform and serve our neighbors experiencing homelessness, and to educate our mountain residents on their needs. Active members come from communities across the Rim of the World mountain communities. They have experience being teachers, nurses, case managers, therapists, pharmacists, engineer and social workers.

They collect and distribute bags of food and personal care items for the homeless, have public meetings, a youth food drive, and try to assist with the needs of the homeless.

Kent Paxton, Homeless Policy Advisor for Supervisor Gonzales, responsible for the development and implementation of “best practice” policies, and strategies to reduce the number of homeless individuals in the county.

Tom Hernandez, Homeless Services officer for the County of San Bernardino.

Barbara Dowdy, Homeless Education Project Manager for San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools.

The Summit will be Thursday July 27, 2017 from 1 p.m. –  4 p.m., at the Lake Arrowhead Community Presbyterian Church, located at 351 Hwy 173, Lake Arrowhead. The summit is open to the public, and MHC highly encourages members of the business, real estate and faith communities, to attend.
