Drowning at Lake Gregory – UPDATE 4 – July 11, 8:02 p.m.

UPDATE 4- Tuesday, July 11, 8:02 p.m.

The Sheriff’s Department has released the information on the person who drowned in Lake Gregory today. The victim is a 45 year old male from Wildomar, CA. Initial reports were a 45-year old male attempted to swim from the north to south shore, when he disappeared under the water at midpoint of the lake. Once on scene, Corporal Scalise began interviewing an eye-witness to the drowning. The victim’s son was identified as the last person to see his father. A last seen point was identified and marked with a buoy and anchor. Sheriff’s Dive Team members were notified at the time of the call and Lt. Lane was the first diver on scene. Within minutes of diver deployment, the victim was located and recovered. Once on shore, the victim was pronounced deceased by San Bernardino Fire personnel. The victim was ultimately released to the custody of the coroner.

Dive team has recovered person from the water. Person is being transported by ambulance.

UPDATE 2 – Tuesday, July 11, 2017 2:09 p.m.

Units are on scene and discussing a course of action.

Air rescue 40 King is over the scene.



Lake Gregory, CA – Units have responded to a possible drowning at Lake Gregory by the dam.

A dive team is being dispatched to the scent.
