Project Connect Outreach Event October 12 in Crestline

By Susan A. Neufeld

Crestline, CA – Homeless and low-income individuals and families can access a variety of supportive services and resources during the Project Connect event, on October 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at St Frances Xavier Cabrini Church, 23079 Crest Forest Drive in Crestline.

Project Connect, hosted by the San Bernardino County  Homeless Partnership (SBCHP), and it’s collaborative partners, will provide attendees with no-cost medical screenings, legal assistance, employment services, housing support services, child care information and referrals to local community service providers.

In addition, Mountains Community Hospital is giving information about rural clinics, Walgreen’s is providing free flu shots, Crestline in the Glen hairstylists will be offering free haircuts, and the Mountain Bears Democratic Club will be registering voters. There will be other local agencies and civic organizations joining Mountain Homeless Coalition in providing referrals to our neighbors experiencing (or in fear of) homelessness. All will provide opportunities to the community in general for volunteering, as well as a greater understanding to those who would rather donate goods and funds to the organizations where time is not available.
