Lake Arrowhead, CA – Here’s your chance to take the plunge and raise money for your favorite charity, when the Rotary Club of Lake Arrowhead hosts the 10th Annual PolaRotary Bear Plunge, on Saturday, February 3, 2018.
At 10 a.m., dozens of intrepid plungers will take to the bone-chilling waters of Lake Arrowhead, at the Lake Arrowhead Resort and Spa Beach, braving the freezing lake for the Lake Arrowhead Rotary Foundation and other charitable organizations.
At the February 2017 event, 70 brave plungers raised a near record $38,000 for 27 different charities.
PolaRotary Bear Plunge Founder, Dr. Patrick Rains, hopes to set an even bigger record and raise $43,000, which will bring the total raised in 10 years a quarter million dollars total. Organizations are encouraged to consider the event as a fundraising opportunity.
PLEDGES CAN BE DIVIDED BETWEEN CHARITIES
Pledges collected can be split between the Rotary Foundation and plungers’ charity of choice.
Some of this year’s recipients will include Rim Education Foundation, UCLA Mountain Bruins Scholarship Fund, Lake Gregory Yacht Club, Mountain Communities Boys and Girls Club, Arrowhead Arts Association.
Participants are invited to take the plunge in costume, if they wish. The event will be filmed by the Rim High School Film Club, and commemorative DVDs will be given to all jumpers.
A free photo op with Plunge mascot – Polaris – will also be available.
Plungers must comply with all rules, which include
