Running Springs, CA – Snow Valley offers the Rim Youth Ski & Snowboard Program, and organized youth snow skiing and snowboarding in Southern California, from first-time-ever lessons to preparing for a high school team. These kids become Olympic hopefuls, from age 6 & up.
For over 40 years, skiing and snowboarding have been after school sports for many Southern California kids – just like football, basketball, volleyball, etc.
The program takes place every Friday through March 2, 2018, from 3:00 to 4:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Snow Valley Mountain Resort, Running Springs, CA.
In 1987 Running Springs local, Dixi Willemse, began leading the Rim Youth Ski and Snowboard Program. ” All the Rim Youth Ski & Snowboard kids aspire to be in the Olympics,” said Dixi Willemse, who notes the kids often talk with her about the Olympics. Willemse also notes that many of the kids move on to high school teams and to Far West Ski Association races– and several have become instructors at Snow Valley, coming “full circle and now teach kids in a Program they learned from”
Bring the kids this Friday and have them join the program, while you do some night skiing or snowboarding until 8:00 p.m., weather permitting.
