Lake Williams, CA – Depending on weather conditions, the pile burning project will begin Tuesday, February, 20, 2018. Firefighters will be burning piles of thinned brush and small trees along Highway 38, near the community of Lake Williams, southeast of Big Bear Lake. There are approximately 780 piles, representing 78 acres of fuels reduction around the community. The thinning is part of a larger project to reduce fuels surrounding the communities on the east-side of Big Bear Valley.
The burn will be conducted by the Mountaintop Ranger District, San Bernardino National Forest,U.S. Forest Service.
