Deputies Investigate Hoax of School Threats in San Bernardino County

By G.T. Houts

San Bernardino County – The San Bernardino County Sheriffs Department has been investigating threats of violence to schools throughout the county. Investigators immediately responded and began working closely with members of the school districts.

Throughout the county, there have been a rash of email threats that they have determined to be a hoax. At this time, it appears there is no viable threat of violence at any school in the county, based off the received email.

The following school districts received an email threat: Colton, Fontana, Helendale, Lucerne Valley, Needles, Redlands, Rim of the World and Yucaipa-Calimesa Districts.

The San Bernardino County Sheriff Department, and all local and state law enforcement officers, investigate every threat thoroughly and never take these incidents lightly. The safety of our children and school staff is our top priority.

Anyone with more information related to these threats of violence is urged to contact your local law enforcement agency. Callers wishing to anonymous are urged to cal the We-Tip Hotline at 1800-78-CRIME (27463) or you may leave information at http://www.wetip.com
